Should you buy it?There is so much gameplay packed into this little game that it should earn a permanent place on any iOS gamer’s phone or tablet. Upgrading and unlocking new towers might be old hat in these games, but the level of detail and ingenuity in every unit is top notch. These things are equipped with the ability to electrocute, spit out rockets, glue the runners in their place, or fry them like eggs. The towers aren’t just the same ol’ boring cannons, either. There are 25 highly replayable levels with difficulty modes that scale for everyone from the newbie to the experienced tower defense veteran. The graphics are impressive - charming and retina-quality with a whimsical feel that help the game appeal to more than just the hardcore crowd. Don't be surprised to see dozens of infantry coupled with tanks, motorcycles. Most Tower Defense games overwhelm the player with huge numbers of enemies, and 'Fieldrunners 2' is no exception. Purchasable items (with in-game coins) give perks, bonuses, rewinds or cause instant devastating damage. Others mix up the formula by limiting the player in time or resources, or requiring the runners to travel through a specific gate. Some maps are standard affair: drag and drop towers and wait for a horde of bad guys to file toward them in an effort to stay alive long enough to reach the other side. This game combines nearly every type of tower defense mode in existence. Like its predecessor, Fieldrunners 2 hovers above the competition by bringing plenty of challenge, polish, and pure fun.
